Neurofibromitosis CenterNYU Langone Medical Center and the Stephen D. Hassenfeld Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders are pleased to announce a new multidisciplinary Neurofibromatosis Center has been launched through generous awards from the NYU Langone Medical Center and Children’s Tumor Foundation (CTF).

Led by Jeffrey C. Allen, M. D., Director of the our Pediatric Neuro-oncology Program, J. Thomas Roland, Jr., M.D. Director of Otology and Neurotology in the Department of Otolaryngology and Co-director of the NYU Cochlear Implant Program and Dr. John Golfinos, Associate Professor of Neurosurgery, we will be developing comprehensive, multi-disciplinary programs for both pediatric and adult patients for the hereditary conditions, Neurofibromatosis Type 1 (NF1) and Neurofibromatosis Type 2 (NF2).

The new clinic will provide a coordinated and comprehensive approach to the care of complex health conditions associated with NF1 and NF2.

We are honored to be the first program in the New York metropolitan area to receive the “Affiliate Clinic” designation from the Children’s Tumor Foundation (CTF).

As a CTF Affiliate Clinic, the NYU Neurofibromatosis Center will become part of a national and international network of clinics working to establish a patient registry and clinical trials consortium.

We are committed to work in partnership with the Children’s Tumor Foundation to conduct laboratory and clinical research to develop more effective therapies for both NF1 and NF2 patients.

We intend to create a partnership with our patients and the medical staff at the Stephen D. Hassenfeld Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders and NYU Langone Medical Center to create the premier Neurofibromatosis Center in the New York metropolitan area. We invite you to help in whatever way you can.
