Reiki

ReikiReiki is a type of complementary therapy that works to improve a person’s energy flow.

Reiki practitioners use their hands on or near patients to send them healing energy.

The goal of Reiki is to improve the flow of energy inside and outside a person's body to bring back internal harmony and health.

Reiki practitioners (also known as Reiki masters) believe that Reiki improves a person's physical and emotional well-being by helping his or her energy move more freely.

The Japanese word “reiki” literally means “universal life force energy.”

Reiki promotes healing, relaxation, and internal harmony, and it attempts to bring a person’s energy into balance.

Reiki practitioners believe that having low life-force energy or an energy imbalance increases the chance of a person getting sick or feeling stress.

Reiki works with other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery. Reiki may help patients and family members:

  • Reduce stress and pain
  • Increase energy
  • Strengthen their immune system
  • Think more clearly
  • Have fewer side effects of cancer treatments
  • Recover from illness, surgery, and physical problems
  • Feel more creative
  • Feel deeply relaxed

Hassenfeld currently has a Reiki practitioner on site during clinic hours one day a week.
